I have made this painting of the time when Shri Krishna left his companions, the cows and Vrindavan. Krishna was a cowherd. He used to go with the cows every morning and while returning home at dusk, he used to sit in the shade of a tree with all his companions and cows and play the sweet tune of his flute for them. At that time, a cow which was his favourite, used to sit near him. In this painting, I have made that cow sit in the pose as she used to sit, her face is at the feet of Krishna and she is lost in the meditation of Krishna. Even though he is not there, he is playing the tune of flute for her and even though he is not there, he is still there, hence Krishna has been made a little blurred. Shri Krishna was also called Pitambari, that is why I have used yellow color on the forehead of the cow and to depict the evening time, I have used a cool color scheme and to depict the soil, I have used a dull color like red and ocher on cow's legs.

Meet the Artist

Punit Kadwane
I'm an artist based in Ujjain(Madhya Pradesh). I have done my graduation BFA (in Painting) in 2024 from Shipra Fine Art College, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. In my paintings I mostly depict the unseen and everyday life. My childhood was spent among the village people and I have a special connection with them.
In my artworks I use mostly acrylic colors and keep experimenting with textures with the help of newspapers, texture white, plastic polythene, sandstones, rollers etc. And there is no sharpness anywhere in my artworks because I believe that every person should live in harmony with everyone, their happiness and sorrow should not be ignored. According to me sharp lines reflect harsh thoughts and harsh personality, that is why I work by maintaining smoothness in my work which is a part of my art style.
