Each work of art, for me, is political satire — balancing black humour with surrealism. My artwork is a reflection of self-experience of the socio-political scenario that surrounds me, at the same time swirled with nostalgic myth and history, and the technical use of watercolor makes it an authentic reflection. There is a juxtaposition of ritualistic forms with contemporary images, commenting upon the materialistic world. As an artist, my exploration could be described as a re-contextualisation of tradition to connect the inner world with the outside one. Iconic images from India make the art a framed pictorial visual debate on human existence, where the inner self collides with the outer self.
