Meet the Artist:

Beauty is not caused. It is.” — Emily Dickinson. Inspired by themes of beauty in existence, it is on canvases of extremely enhanced color and contrast, in very simple composition, that my art gives the main role to pulsating life that finds its way despite everything. My works aim to point to the inescapable and unlimited sensation of joy for life. Through suggestive visions of associative biomorphic forms, I approach a new ‘Garden of Eden’, almost, in which strange fruit thrive, ripe and overripe, cracked and juicy, yet clearly defined, dominant and very seductive — as much as Mother Nature herself, who is sensual, fertile, self-sufficient. The fruit in my art have their own consciousness and masterfully rule the world created by the artist — sometimes going even out of my control. There could also be a huge seed depicted, already sprouted, revealing to the spectator its rich texture and life inside, defiantly assuring us that it will conquer the world at all costs. The associations are numerous, and the art contains multitudinous possibilities for interpretation. The new Garden of Eden could be amidst wild nature, it could be huge or so tiny as to represent only a microcosm; it could also be artificially conceived by human hand, under sterile laboratory conditions. And yet, nothing can take away its richness and power. On some canvases, this form is softer, camouflaged subtly and sensitively, almost like beings we meet in the underwater world. Their swaying movement testifies to their gentle, patient existence that resists even the strongest current. Somewhere else, strange creatures come in pairs, or transform into beehives, also a symbol of life, eternal energy and renewal. I create mixed media artworks in large and medium scale, focusing on every detail and colour to bring the spectator closer to a strange yet familiar vision of nature, life and life cycles.
