Arup Lodh

Arup is known for his impressive paintings using a combination of watercolor, oil, acrylic and landscape creating an impressionistic style with surreal undertones. His work draws on the combined universality of expression and formless elements of Chinese calligraphy and European realism, while also contrasting mobile and immobile images which are showcased in his cityscape paintings. Through these works, Arup is able to capture a sense of urban life, highlighting nuances such as embarrassment and human eye-contact, thereby allowing viewers to experience the feelings evoked by the activities within a city.
