I love visiting archaeological sites where ancient structures are present. And these ancient architectural structures, which were colourful and glorious in the past, have faded today and become colourless, shabby, and mysterious. My monochromatic, abstract, rhythmic painting, “Remnants of the Past,” is inspired by this sort of ancient space.

Samba Prasad Biswas is a painter based in West Bengal who has been working as a full-time artist for 14 years. He initially started as a figurative artist but was inspired by abstract masters such as S.H. Raza and Mark Rothko, leading him to create abstract paintings. In his artwork, he explores color and geometry to create harmony and balance. He draws inspiration from architectural structures, music, cultural traditions, and everyday life. His art is open-ended, allowing viewers to interpret it in their own way.
