Collection: Avneet Chawla

I explore my themes through vivid colors on canvas as well as paper. Like Rothko and Newman, I want to create art based on simplified, large-format, color-dominated fields. The thick dot texture is my own style fused into the form to create an elemental impact. The goal is to achieve the ‘sublime’ rather than the ‘beautiful.’ I was initially inspired by Australian aboriginal art and like my work to be meditative and spiritual.
