Collection: Ritika Anand
Ritika Anand is an artist whose work is deeply influenced by nature. She believes that art is a gradual process that reflects the beauty and fragility of the natural world. Her art practice focuses on self sustainability and resilience, and she has gradually shifted her visual language and materials over time. Anand's sculpted forms are inspired by the textures of corals and aquatic objects, and she experiments with mixing metal with ceramics to imitate these textures. She uses the traditional technique of Raku firing to create independent sculptural forms, and is particularly drawn to the metallic lustre and black crackle patterns that can be achieved through this process. The unpredictable outcomes and accidental marks in her work are a major exploration in her practice.
