Collection: Satyendra Kumar
Satyendra Kumar, an artist from Uttar Pradesh, despite being from a backward family, had a passion for art and pursued a degree in Fine Arts. He found inspiration in the visual world, particularly in the landscapes of Banaras, where he would paint watercolor scenes of temples, ghats, and palaces. Instead of using a pencil to draw, Kumar prefers to create layouts in sculpture using non-uniform mediums like wood and metal. He finds wood and bronze to be harmonious materials for expressing himself. During his studies, Kumar experimented with incorporating old wooden planks into his sculptures, combining them with each other to create unique forms. He also used wax strips to create sculptures in metal.
